Hi There,,New here myself,,the error code you mentioned 1 long 2 short beeps is a video error code, could you try an external monitor to see if you can get into the bios that way?

Did you let go the FN and ESC keys once the power started to come on?

yes,i let go the FN+ESC after it turns out ,the laptop power led with a bulb symbol blink all the time.

The pendrive led flashes for 15 seconds then stops.

I would strongly recommend that you find an USB floppy somewhere and try again before writing the motherboard off. BIOS has better luck with a good old floppy disk than pen drive or CD

this is what Extensa 5635/5635Z/5235 Service Guide says on how to recover:
Steps for BIOS Recovery from USB Storage:
Before doing this, prepare the Crisis USB key. The Crisis USB key can be made by executing the Crisis Disk
program in another system with Windows XP OS.
Follow the steps below:
1. Save the ROM file along with Fla.exe (BIOS flash tool) to the root directory of the USB storage disk.
2. Plug USB storage disk into the USB port.
3. Press Fn + ESC + Power buttons. Remove your finger from t he Power button but keep the Fn + Esc keys
pressed till the Power button flashes once.

I have downloaded all bios versions for extensa 5235 and i cant find any file called "Flashit.exe" (BIOS flash tool).
i am confused dont know what to do,all help is welcome.

Download the zip file, extract it - you find the Flashit.exe there to use. Good luck

The laptop is alive again, this is what i did:

created a crisis pen drive with extensa 5235 bios then copied the flashit and extensa bios files in wph and bin format.booted the laptop with pendrive the laptop started to beep for about 1 minute ,restarted itself and now is working again.

laugh4.gif I am glad you sorted it out. Your description of how to go about it would help other members for sure. Just in case the link to Acer fails in the future, I have the Flashit.exe tool uploaded here at our sister site DesktopForums

Thanks mate i really apreciate your help.

My friend has an extensa 5635zg taking dust ,his laptop does not even turn on after bad bios flash.

How can this be fixed? maybe soldering  a new bios chip on the laptop motherboard?

Thanks again.

Is it for sure that the notebook died after a bad flash in your friend's case and not due to something else?

If you both are up to soldering then go for a new chip, though I doubt it in this instance.

My friend says that he  tried to flash the bios in windows  and windows stopped responding, screen was frozen.

He had to remove the battery and charger because it wont shut down when holding the power button.

Since then his laptop wont power on,power led doesnt turn on when charger is plugged in.

He has tested the charger, battery, ram, cpu, and hardrive ,every component has worked in my laptop.

I dont know if this is normal behavior after bad bios update beacause the laptop wont power on and no power led works.

So soldering the bios chip can resurect it?

It would not hurt to try the chip replacement if you can find one - cheapest way to find out I guess

I have found the bios chip in this site:

http://www.bios-service-center.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=5635zg&x=0&y=0

But the strange thing is that when we plug the charger laptop powerled lights wont turn on, have you seen this problem before?
