I am new here but was hoping one of you may be able to give me a definate answer to my problem:
I have just received my dell xps 15 l502x and it was supplied without a power cord. By this I mean the cable that connects the AC adapter block to the wall. I have the unit itself and the integrated cord that runs from the box to the laptop (but no way of plugging this into the wall!!).
I have contacted Dell and they are sending me a 'replacement'/what they meant to send in the first place, however my question is whether in the mean time I can use the adaptor cable from my old xps m1530. The adaptors themselves have the same voltage but a different wattage so I know I cannot use the old unit as a whole, however the cable connecting the adapter to the wall on my old charger has the same connector to the adapter as on the new unit. Are these parts therefore interchangeable?
Can I ask you guys to say how certain you are in any suggestions you have for me - I don't want to risk dammaging the laptop at all!!
I hope that all makes sense!
EDIT: I am in the UK on a 3-pin plug if that makes any difference...
Many thanks in advance!!!
