Acer Aspire LCD problem

Thread Starter

Hello,

I've recently came across a problem with my laptop Acer Aspire 8530G. I get this annoying thing when every time I move just a little my screen (for example I want to adjust it cause I'm sitting lower or higher) it goes black. I then have to press Fn+F6 to return to normal but in a couple seconds screen goes black again. Sometimes this keeps up non-stop... Then I just close the lid and open it - sometimes it goes black again and I repeat the step or it goes normal again till the screens gets moved just a little and does the same thing. Also, I've noticed that sometimes the screen goes not to completely black but I can see the desktop if I look close (the screen is just very dim). I've also had some problems before with sleep mode when I would let my laptop go to sleep mode and after resuming it the screen would be just all white and I would need to reboot my laptop. Also, not sure if this is relevant, but once I tried to adjust screen brightness and it would not change until I closed and opened my lid.

My laptop specs are:

AMD Turion X2 dual core mobile technology RM-22 (2,1 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache)

18,4 inch HD+ Acer CineCrystal LCD

Up to 2304 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 HyperMemory

4 GB DDR2

OS Windows 7 64bit (reinstalled it a couple months ago)

Please help me with some advices or possible problem solutions.

Hook up an external monitor, if it works correctly then the possibilities are the screen inverter, loose LCD cable, the LCD switch by the power bezel getting stuck

cheers ...
