This is the iPhone lens that captures seamless 360º panoramic video. Using the same technology found in U.S. Army surveillance cameras, the lens has a curved mirror that gathers light from all directions and reflects it back into the iPhone's camera, enabling video recording in all directions simultaneously without requiring image stitching. A free app automatically calibrates the focus, adjusts the exposure, and allows you to pan and tilt the viewing perspective up to 360º on the horizontal plane and up to 80º on the vertical plane. The lens captures video at 30 frames per second and at 1920 by 456 resolution for the iPhone 4S and 1280 x 304 for the iPhone 4. The removable lens attaches to the included iPhone hard case that can be used as an everyday protective cover. Includes a microfiber pouch for the lens. Compatible with iPhone 4S and 4. 3 1/2" H x 2" Diam. (1 oz.)
Will.i.am's iPhone accessories to 'turn smartphones into genius phones'
The first product from his new consumer electronics and app venture i.am+ is an accessory that clips onto an iPhone and transforms the eight megapixel smartphone camera into a 14 megapixel camera, which it is claimed dramatically enhances the clarity and definition of your photographs. Speaking exclusively to The Daily Telegraph, he says: ‘We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock you phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera.’
The camera will be the first of a series of digital products that bear his name – to support them, he has invested in what he calls ‘digital real estate’ online. He now owns the domain www.i.am. Users of i.am+ accessories will be given individual online profiles, for example www.i.am/Will.
Pricing will be announced next week at a launch in London. via
