Quadro FX 1600M in Precision M90?

Thread Starter

I've seen threads on the internet hinting to me that the two are somewhat compatible (other than BIOS incompatibility, being registered as an unknown card and brightness problems). My Quadro FX 1500M recently got fried so im looking for a replacement. The Geforce 7000's series and fx 1500m/2500m/3500m on eBay are very expensive. However, they have good deals for the fx 1600m. So, can I use a 1600m instead of a 1500m?? Answers will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Not so sure about the FX 1600 replacing the FX 1500. Nomenclature tells me the 2nd digit in CPU and GPU dictates the same family. So the 2500 and 3500 have the better compatibility to the 1500 than the 1600
