HP dv6tqe VS Dell XPS 15z

Hello Guys, Long time since I've posted. I'm trying to decide on a new notebook for school/general computing on the go. I would like one at least capable of decently running some games to. After a little research it seems that HP computers are considered the best value. It doesn't appear HP offers any student discount for the dv6tqe, and dell only gives me like 100 bucks off.

Anyway, my budget is around $1200-1300ish. These are the 2 I'm looking at, if anyone else has another suggestion I'm open for it also. I'd like something light weight, thin is good, but I don't want anything less then 15.6".

Do you know how reliable the HPs are? Ive read some reviews on the dell but haven't seen any on the HP. I know the dell has some complaints on the trim, and heating issues since its so thin

If you walk through both Dell and HP sections in the forum you would see that the amount (and intensity) of complaint is pretty much the same on both camps, or any manufacturers in my book.

Personal experience wise, I have no qualm with HP, owning more HP than Dell myself. Securing a good warranty is the best way to go for electronic devices.
