So I'm new to this forum and need some help. First off, I am pretty good with computers in the software terms. However, I have never needed to fix hardware problems so I really don't understand how it works. My laptop has worked consistently for about 3 years besides about 10 blue screens. Two nights ago I was using my laptop pretty late and I had plugged it in to charge. In the morning I put it on my desk but forgot to plug it in. I was gone that day and got back today. Now I can't get it to turn back on. It is plugged in to the wall and also has the battery in. It charged for about 2 hours and although the charging light turned red it won't work. (BTW: I don't think the charging light should turn red but I'm not sure) Also, I don't think it is the charger because when I plug it into the wall it turns green on the little box halfway down the cord so it is definitely receiving powers. I heard that unplugging, removing the battery, holding the power button, and then replugging it in will work, but it didn't. Is there some way to fix this cause I want to save what is on my hard drive. Any help would be awesome as I don't know what to do and need it for school in a couple days. Thanks in advance for any help.
