Although many branded systems are fine, there's usally something I rather upgrade. Besides, it's more fun to build your own.

I'm not into gaming or the like so "the fastest" isn't always as important. The technology does improve though, so I usually upgrade or replace every couple of years.

a) Extremely important
The speed increase in system performance is incredible! As they come down in price and increase their capacity, more people will use them instead of the standard hard drive.

However, I have been getting lazy lately and do shop for pre-built PC's.

An SSD is the single best price/performance upgrade that can be done to an existing PC (or laptop).

I can't imagine anyone running an i7 chip using rotational media.

The one piece of information that never gets posted to SSD specifications anymore is the max write per bit count. As speed of access increases this number will be reached faster. I understand that the drives use dynamic wear leveling. But if utilization is high, this will only help so much.
