a) Always build my own system with my specs. You can always build a better system for about the same price as a branded one.

2) How often do you replace or upgrade your PC?

e) 3 years or longer - if you build a system with the right/best components, it should last you more than 3 years so upgrading shouldn't be an issue.

3) How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance?

a) Extremely important - there's really no comparison with SSD vs conventional HDD. Even entry level SSD blows away higher end HDD, so its really a no brainer for any PC build.

Though I have built some systems, I prefer to buy a branded system.

I often replace but more often upgrade your PC, easily every year.

That way I can make sure each part is the best I can afford and is easily upgradable later

I tend to upgrade parts around 18 months, but completely rework the system every 3yrs

An SSD was the best investment I've made in years. It has had the most dramatic impact on overall performance.
