b) Prefer to buy a branded system

I'm a Rails developer... been buying Apple exclusively since 2005. I did just build a Core i7 2600K based Hackintosh though.

2) How often do you replace or upgrade your PC?
b) 12 – 18 months

Being that my profession is computer based, I can justify buying a new computer every year. Also, usually software companies will buy hardware for their devs.

3) How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance?

My Hack, my latest MBP and my gf's MBA all have SSDs. Can't live without them anymore.

Most of the branded systems that i've ever seen are junk and go out after a while.

a) Extremely important

When I had my OCZ 60GB SSD I could tell and extreme amount of performance gains (until I went through 3 drives and went back to a 640GB WD Black Sata Drive) It increased Windows bootup, Games loading, even browing.
