a) Prefer to build my own. Somehow building your own machine makes you own it a little bit more than buying one off the shelf. And in some cases, pwn it.

3 years or longer.One reason why you build it. A good build will easily last that long with minimal upgrades in between.

Used to be every year when I worked at CompUSA and we got the Intel deals yearly.

Not Canadian but what order? 120 + 45 /4 -11 should be 120.25 but if you do it in left to right order, 30.25.

I've always wanted to build my own, but have been too afraid to take the plunge.

I think I've had my current PC just over three years now, and it's still ticking.

That being said, I've never used an SSD. My answer could change if I turn out to be one of the winners...

1. A: I will never buy another desktop again, I will always build my own, I like to know exactly what's in my system and it is cheaper.
2. D: I sometimes upgrade a component but I feel when I build one it should be a solid 2 years before its time for a new one.
3. A: I currently do not have an ssd but would love to have one, I have seen their performance.

I build my own but recently there have been some system builders who have made their own case and have made me think twice about building my own or buying theirs.

2) How often do you replace or upgrade your PC?
My currently computer, most of the main components are four years old (motherboard, cpu, memory, psu), a few parts had to get sent back since they died under warranty. My case is new though.

3) How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance?
A SSD is an extremely important part of system performance. Most programs I use take a while to open and if a SSD will speed that up then it is well worth it.
