A while ago, I had a laptop that died on me. The problem was hardware related, but wasn't my Hard Drive. I have since removed my HDD and bought multiple caddys for it to try and get the files off. It worked at first with the first one, then with the second one, but now my HDD won't show up under "Computer" no matter what caddy I use, or even if I just hook it directly up to my current laptop (it supports two hdd's). When I plug it in to the caddy and computer, it vibrates and makes noise like it normally should to indicate it's operational, and I know my usb drives aren't faulty or anything. I've tried it on two different computers with the same results. When I first plugged it in with the current caddy, my laptop said it installed the drivers for it successfully, but it still wouldn't show up.
Any idea what the problem is? Is there any way for me to get the files off of my hdd? I'm mostly concerned about pictures, art projects (I'm a Graphic Designer), and the like, but if I can get everything, that would be awesome.
Thanks for any help you can give :)

When you said caddys you meant external USB housings? If not try installing the drive into an USB housing and try accessing it from USP ports
cheers ...
