This mini PC has come out from China running Android 4.0. You plug it into a HDMI cable and then into the back of your TV and you turn it into a PC, all you need is a wireless mouse. It looks like it has beaten the Scandinavian Cotton Candy in release, size, weight and price, retailing at $72. Say goodbye to your big media streamers.

How would this compare to the Raspberry PI USB Computer that can be had for about 15 quids?

The Raspberry PI comes with no operating system or case (easily resolved) so it is not an 'out of the box' working machine... Plus no HD port... But that will come.....

Interesting. I am still inclined toward the Raspberry, hearing that we have fun playing with Linux on the stick so far winknudge.gif Gonna take a peek at it once I am back in Hamburg

It looks like that age of Chinese MiniPC is coming.

VIA just beats the $79 pricing with its own $49 APC MiniPC laugh4.gif

Powered by a WonderMedia ARM processor, APC integrates memory, storage, and a full set of consumer I/O features in a small footprint Neo-ITX motherboard that can be connected to a TV or monitor. The system also features a custom build of Android that has been optimized for keyboard and mouse input, and comes with a browser and a selection of preinstalled apps. APC consumes only 4 watts when operating at idle power and 13.5 watts at maximum load. This is ten times less than a standard PC system and ensures significant power savings in large scale deployments.

The MK802 II is out now with a 1.5Ghz CPU, 1Gb DDR3 and 4Gb flash storage with Android 4. A lot of the ebay vendors are supplying them with a wireless remote/mouse. However my 'smart' TV has kind of superseded its use now, it can act as an internet surfer and more importantly you can stream to it from a NAS drive or PC.. Raspberry Pi will go further I think, down to its programmable use... VIA is sticking out more nano boards for embedded projects.
