Toshiba A 210 power issue

Thread Starter

First my original charger got fried.I've buyed an universal one but not with the same...specs.19v with 3.5A.Original one has 19V with 6.32A.

No problem.Worked fine but he couldn't charge the battery.Without battery is fine.It got fried.Got another one.Same model.

After a while it keeps shuts down in games.Example : Star Trek Online, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3....etc.In older games, ( Counter-Strie, MOHAA, NFS Most Wanted ) I have no problem.

Guessed it was an overheating problem.I cleaned him, cleaned the fan, new thermal paste all that.It worked exaclty 1 hour without shuting down.

Now I have another charger ( not original ) with 19V with 6.32A.I have the same problem. It keeps shuting down in games.

In some games, if I keep the processor at 1600MhZ I have no problem but in other games, even if I keep it at 800MhZ I have the same problem.

I even removed the Dvd and bluetooth.Same issue.

It could be from the graphics? Not being cooled enough?I've take it apart several times to clean it and change the thermal paste.

That....cooling board ? ( bad english here ) that is over the graphic card is a little loose. The screws keeps it in place but the holes are a little to big for the screws to keep it in one place without moving around.Could this be an issue?I need to find a solution to keep it in one place?

If the plate is fixed so that you can't move it, then it should be fine. If not, then yes, it is a problem

Well, the plate is pretty much fixed. You can't lifted or anything but it moves in sides, left right, but just a little.Lets say....1 mm in every side.

I took it apart today to clean it again and change the thermal paste.I've lifted to corners where you put the screws just a little bit.Is better than before.I didn't manage to test it today but I did it before and had the same problem.I don't know if is the processor, graphic card or just the motherboard.I can't tell and I don't have spare parts to test it.

Hoped that someone else had the same issue and manage to find a way to fix it.
