5. How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance? (extremely important, pretty important, Not very important, no impact on performance) It is extremely important to a system's performance. The fact there no moving parts, would help with the performance, especially if putting an OS on it.

1. I have an OCZ SSD (ugh) and an Intel SSD (great).
2. Reliability, performance.
3. 1-2 years.
4. Build
5. SSD: pretty important now that prices are getting more reasonable.

Thanks for the give-aways.
1. I own a Crucial M4 for one of my machines but am planning on getting SSDs for my other ones
2. Reliability, then price
3. over 3 years
4. buy a system and upgrade as needed to extend life to 3 years, then replace
5. extremely important
6. not canadian, USA all the way!
1) No, I do not own one currently, and have no immediate plans to buy one.
2) Most important consideration would be the price/performance ratio compared to std HDD.
3) When I buy a PC it lasts over 3 years before I buy another one.
4) I build my own systems.
5) I currently perceive an SSD as "not very important", although I honestly have little direct knowledge as I have not looked at buying hardware in a few years.
6) 110+15/5-4 = 109 [or (110+15)/5-4 = 21 if you are brain damaged and assume too much].

I've thought about purchasing one for my new build, once I an get the money together. As for what brand, it all depends on what the user reviews say!

I research my hardware purchases thoroughly, though I do often look at brands while doing so.

3. How often do you purchase a new PC (less than a 1 year, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

Over 3 years. Money is tight for me.

4. Do you prefer to build your own PC or buy a branded system (Build your own or Buy a branded system)?

Build, definitely. More flexibility, and upgradability.

5. How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance? (extremely important, pretty important, Not very important, no impact on performance)

Pretty important - the performance is where it counts.

1. Do you currently own an SSD and are you planning on purchasing one in the near future? If so, which brands are you considering (Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other)?

Don't own one. Will probably buy one down the road and I will consider all brands.

2. What is the most important consideration you make when you purchase an SSD (price, performance, brand, other)?

Price per GB is the most important to me.

3. How often do you purchase a new PC (less than a 1 year, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

Usually every 2-3 years, although I upgrade what I can in-between.

4. Do you prefer to build your own PC or buy a branded system (Build your own or Buy a branded system)?

Whichever gives me the components I want for the lowest price. I built my most recent machine, may go back to buying a branded system if prices keep dropping.

5. How important do you feel an SSD is to system performance? (extremely important, pretty important, Not very important, no impact on performance)

I think an SSD is extremely important in a mobile system like a laptop. Not very important in a desktop imo, but still useful.

6. [Canadian residents only] What is 110 plus 15 divided by 5 minus 4?

Assuming 110+(15/5) - 4 = 109
Otherwise, ((110+15)/5)-4 = 21
