Hi.i recently purchased an m7700 from someone for pretty much free.he had no clue what was wrong  and i figured maye i could fix it.he told me hes had windows xp on it once after doing somthing with the bios and then the laptop started not recognizing the harddrive.when i bought it i hooked it up,turned it on and the lights lit up,cd drive working fine, but nothing on the screen.after checking the ram sticks to see if one of the slots or sticks where bad i left one in and then the laptop screen worked.i went into bios and it did not recognize the harddrive,i tried booting up winxp anyway but that was a no go (it also said it cant find one).i tried windows 7 but i end up getting the STOP message (blue screen).after some reboot attempts the screen didnt want to show again.few attempts later it did.i have no idea what the problem could be.the original owner whom gave it to the guy i just bought it from said all it needed was a harddrive.my guess would be something to do with the bios but im not a genius when it comes to laptops.hopefully this isnt a hardware problem.any help would greatly be appreciated.the model is clevo D9t,

Try reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery, and if possible try re-flash the BIOS with the correct version

found a guide, was taking off the bottom when all i had to do was take the keyboard off to get to the cmos battery lol.well i took it out, stuck it back in.now the laptop is showing me the boot onscreen everytime now.it allows me to go into bios.also says bios is not installed.when i tried loading xp it gave me an error,fr the hell of it i threw win7 in and this time it loaded up to where id have to select where to install (when befor it would just give me a STOP message).didnt recognize any harddrive,so i take it it needs a reflash of the bios.anyidea of how id do that?.i appreciate your time and thanks again.

You would need to look for the latest BIOS version for that model, follow the direction to create a BIOS flash diskette and just go for it smile.gif
