Dell XPS 15 L502X - Bluetooth upgrade

Thread Starter
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 15 L502X only to find out that it didn't come with Bluetooth.

So I did some research and found that the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 mini card is compatible with this laptop. But I found some reviews on CNET that ranked the mini card really poor and commented that it doesn't perform that well.

I was just wondering how I can go about find a good alternative replacement then the 6230.

Also, I performed a clean install of Windows 7 as soon as I received the laptop and now debating which anti-virus software I should put on there.

I've used a combination of Avast & windows defender in the past but I'd like to beef up the security a bit. A few years ago I used to use the Zone Alarm Firewall and really liked it. I am contemplating purchasing Norton 360 but wanted to get the opinions of experts on this subject and recommendations of increasing the security on my laptop.

Thanks in advance!!!

My personal take is that the card performance relies also (partly) on the environment to be rated good or bad smile.gif

I use nothing but Microsoft Security Essentials on all my comps, as far as antivirus / anti-malware concern.

cheers ...

Hello theproman23,,

My name is Gagandeep and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

I understand that you are facing issues with your system. I am here to help you.

The Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 mini card should be fine for this computer.

Every anti-virus will provide you different features or some extra features depending upon the product you would like to purchase. I would suggest to choose from Norton or Mcafee.

Please let me know the findings. Glad to help.

Thank you for choosing Dell.

Thanks & Regards
