Dell latitude 2100 will not boot up anymore

Hi

So I have a dell latitude 2100 and it had been working fine. The other night I was working on it and I had the power cable plugged in, I then fell asleep and when I woke up the laptop had a black screen and no lights on. I assumed it was in sleep mode but when I pressed the power button it flashed a few times and nothing happened? I also noticed when pushing the power button the power button and hard drive light in the bottom left corner would flash also but would never stay lite. I searched online and I have tried removing the battery and usin the power to switch on same thing happens. I've also tried reseating the CMOS battery and RAM and tried turning on and nothing happens.

It's really frustrating and I'm hoping it hasn't over heated? I mean it was only left on over night once?

If anyone could help it would be great

Thanks

Remove everything that you can and leave the comp off for a day or so and see. But yes, sounded like the comp is toasted. Was it being left overnight on a flat solid surface?

cheers ...

Thanks for the reply

It was left on my bed unfortunately should it of been left on a hard surface? I still can't believe it would over heat like that?

Ok what parts should I remove? Ram, CMOS battery and what else?

Thanks

That would definitively hurt since there was no chance for the air to pull through from underneath sad.gif

Just ram, hard drive would do. Outlook is not so good with that overnight sleep on the bed for the comp for sure

cheers ...
