So, I spilled water on my laptop keyboard. I immediately powered off, then dried what I could. Then, I turned it upside down and took the battery out (probably 5-10 minutes after, worried this may have been too long). Anyways, I am planning on leaving it upside down until at least 48 hours after the spill. It is still under warranty but obviously since it's liquid damage if it doesn't work, I doubt it actually is going to be covered. my question is, is there anything else I should be doing to make sure it doesn't die or by now is it just a matter of waiting?

By now it should be too late already... but here it goes anyways...
Once I spilled a full glass of water onto a friend's laptop, we immediately turned it off, removed the battery and rinsed the unit with tons of alcohol. We let it rest for about 48 hours and then turned it on again. At first the keyboard wasn't working propperly (keys were changed), but after one or two days it was in full working condition again.
The LCD did suffer some damage, I don't know if it was the water or the alcohol, but you could clearly see a big stain where the liquid was.
Anyway, the important thing is that the unit was still working pretty fine.
