ASUS K55VD Yellowish LCD

Hi Guys

I bought a ASUS K55VD, and I noticed that the screen has slight tint of yellow, - not a pure white unlike my other ASUS notebook.

Is there a way to calibrate this or to correct the color?

Thanks!

Have you checked this screen against others to make sure that it is not just yours? No, I am not ware of any screen calibration software for notebooks .... and we do have gals here in the forum that are pretty darn good techies winknudge.gif

Yes, I did check with my other notebook pc, and indeed the k55VD has a yellowish tint. I even pluged it on the external monitor to see the difference, and still K55VD has a yellowish tint.

Do you think this is a graphics card driver?

You can always start the comp in Safe Mode and see if the tint is there or not before determining that it is from the graphic driver

Even in safe mode, there's a yellowish tint sad.gif, this not only on a certain area of the screen but the entire screen.

It's a screen property then

I upgraded the graphics card driver, update bios version, I think the yellowish has lightened.

Btw, I had the unit totally replaced with new one and the screen are both the same (though the other one is more yellowish, you can see the difference in 1 glance), this new unit has still very slightly yellowish tint if you look closely.

I think some manufacturer use a yellowish ldc/ light, some are blueish.

Can somebody confirm this?
