Dell XPS M 1330 Error code
I'm working on my Daughters Laptop (Dell XPS M1330 w/ Vista) I replaced the H/D(with a Western Digital Scorpio Black) 2 1/2 months ago. Things were working great until 2 weeks ago. To make a long story short I'm getting error code 2000-0146 & from what I can find it says to remove & reseat the H/D. If that does not fix it then either the H/D or the mobo is bad. How can I tell if the new H/D went bad? AND if it's the mobo is it cost effective to fix?
Easiest way is to take the drive out and see if you can access it from an external housing, or just pop in any old working drive and see what other errors you will get.
Depending on the mobo cost, it might be worth while just to get a new system, Dell (and other manufacturers) is selling them for cheap at the moment.

I am sorry to inform you that the error code 2000-0146 is related to the hard drive going bad. Do not worry about the motherboard, it is fine. If you have important information you can call Gill-ware and they will get the information retrieved off the hard drive. You can contact them at 877.624.7206 (toll free number).
