Acer TimelineU M5 wireless really slow?

hi I just got a new Acer TimelineU M5 and the wireless was slow so I comoared the wireless speed side by side to my old Acer 5735. I went on speedtest.com and did them each one at a time and averaged ~1 mb/s downloaded and ~3mb/s uploaded for the TimelineU and ~12 mb/s downloaded and ~4 mb/s uploaded for the old 5735. Anyone know why this is and what I can do to fix it?

How much memory did your laptop come with??/Was it 2GB...From what I have read, this is a real bottleneck with this machine...If this is the case and you have the Win 7 64 bit operating system..you should increase it to at least 8GBs..Remove what memory is there and replace it with 2 x 4GB sticks...Browsers alone probably use up to 1GB of memory...

Reset the router? Router firmware?

Check power settings for the wireless adapter under advanced settings. change it to maximum performance.

Hi ! I have exactly the same issue - spent hours on the hotline. We reinstalled the bios, the drivers, wiped the personnal settings. Nothing changes - it is still very slow. My advice to others : do not buy this PC, it is definitively flawed !
