When there is no external power supply and the card in the PCMCIA slot is free from working, the card should be removed in order to extend the service time of the battery.
The most appropriate working temperature for battery is the room temperature (20-30 degrees), and any working environment whose temperature is over or less than the room one can lead to the decrease of battery life.
When using a laptop with stable power supply available, the thought of removing the battery to extend its working life is not correct. Take Huashuo laptop for example, after the battery is fully charged, the charging circuit will shut down automatically, thus avoiding being over charged.
Make a battery power correction every 3 months.
Minimize the number of the use of the battery. The number of the charge-discharge has a direct effect on its working life. One charge of the battery leads to the shortness of its working life. Therefore, users should use external power supply to operate their laptops.
Pull up the battery when external power supply is accessible. Some users often plug in power supply and then pull it out for many times a day even though their laptops are installed with batteries. These actions, however, inevitably do great damage to the battery itself because each access of external power supply is equivalent to a battery charge, hence shortening the battery’s working life.
Never charge battery unless its power is thoroughly exhausted, and avoid long charging. Whatever your laptop battery is, lithium or Ni-MH, you have to avoid charging it unless its power is lower than 1%. This is the best way to avoid memory effects. Lithium battery also has memory effects though lower than that of Ni-MH battery.
Attention to daily use. Exposure, dampness and chemical liquid erosion are prohibited in daily use. Besides, the contact between the battery and metal objects should be avoided.
