Well my 5670 is great for "portable" gaming and a multi media station, I stlill kind of wanted a laptop that is a little more pracital to carry with for general stuff surfing the web, word processing, etc.
I looked all over the wbe for a smaller laptop and almost bought a Sager 2720 becuase of my so far great Sager exsperience. But then I came across a very unadvertised laptop made by Averatec, the 3200. Latop can be had for less than $1000 which made it appealing since didn't want to fork over the cash for a centrino. Found one in stock at the local Sam's Club so I decided to give one a try.

12.1" screen
AMD Athlon Mobile XP 2000
512MB ram
DVD/CD-RW
intergrated 802.11g
3-4hrs of battery life
ligth weight and thin
Dislikes:
the extra "\" next to the arrow keys
need to use the func keys to use all the "F" keys
XP Home
Only Recovery dics included
need to download drivers off the web to reinstall
"where's the manual?" (who needs it any ways! lol)
keys next to the 1 don't feel the same
Well when on fist got my new baby home booted it up to make sure everything worked. Then I formated it and install a copy of XP Pro. All the drivers I downloaded worked no problem (wish I would have got a driver dics I could use) One of the first things I noticed was the veiwing angle is no wher near the view angle on my 1600x1200 screen on my 5670! But not a problem harder for other people to see what I'm doing
Other than that the screen quality is fairly nice. No stuck pixels
The speakers sound ok no laptop really has "good" speakers I like the thumb wheel for volume control (works w/BB4Win unlike the keys on my 5670) Video card kindof sucks on this laptop but who cares I thats what I got a Sager for! For than enough for everyday stuff. The intergrated WiFi is where this laptop really shines! I have learned to love WiFi. The intergrated WiFi is better than any of my Linksys "G" cards I have. Much better range! I get a full signal where my others WiFi cards die out! Big plus for this laptop.
The AMD procossor and the 512MB of ram make this laptop seam quick on and off battery. Plus I get 3+ hours or battery life
Over all this laptop was a steal for less than $1K! The bad points are very minor and in my eyes should be giving the centrino laptops a run for their money literally! Literally t's the "AMD centrino" and has a much better bang for the buck!
This just proves again that ads don't make a brand!
