[FIXED] Precision M6300 stuck in infinit bios reboot

Thread Starter
Hi everyone.

I have a Dell Precision M6300, it worked quite fine till this morning.

I pressed power, the BIOS (lastest version, A14) loaded up and the progress bar went to full (POST checkup i think), then the screen got black as usual, but instead of Windows 7 loading as usual, it went back with the BIOS screen, POST progress bar restarting from zero to full, and so on.

After a few cycles, i powered it down, wait a bit, and put i back on (we never know), but no luck.

I removed every single thing plugged in the laptop but the power cord, no success.

I physically removed the hard drive and put it back (a suggestion from another forum), still looping around the BIOS.

I tried booting the machine without its hard drive, to see, it detect the HD is missing ans is complaining about it.

I putted it back and then loaded up the Dell Utilities with F12 as boot, did a full diagnostic of it (something like an hours long scanning) and everything is fine.

Now, i booted from the DVD with a Live DVD of Ubuntu 11.04, worked good, i can access the laptop hard drive, all the partitions and data are there, his SMART status is healthy...

This seem like the worst case scenario... where everything is fine but its not working. I also contacted Dell tech support but they cant help me right now cause I wasn't the original owned of the laptop and needed to fill a ownership transfer form that can take up to 15 days to process.

I'm afraid reinstalling Windows wont to, as it seem that even if the hard drive is ok and the laptop see it, it's not reaching the boot menu (i have Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04 installed on it)

So... anyone out there have ans ideas, technical explanations, tips, or useful comment about that delightful problem ?

Thanks in advance.
Yan

EDIT; Ok, this is for anyone who will have a laptop stuck in an infinit bios rebooting loop... Before panicking... Before looking for a replacement motherboard or just plain crying...
Check THIS first. On my computer, despite all good disk scan... the BOOTMGR was damaged.
It's all back, and loads of pressure on my shoulders. I hope this post will help someone.
