Samsung RV-510 Laptop - Damaged. Help Needed Please

Hi, I'm new to all of this.  Our son has a Samsung RV-510 Laptop which he got brand new this year, but I think he has dropped it.  He is autistic with ADHD so anything could be possible but it did only look as though only the screen was damaged.  Put a new screen in, the screen powers up, but there is no noise hardly from the laptop itself, no booting up etc.  I can't afford to take it to a repair place as due to where we live they charge an utter fortune to do anything!  I don't know if it needs a new hard drive or what.  The case is fine.  No problem at all

 

Any help would be brilliant

Welcome to the notebook forums.. Try reseating the RAM and the hard drive, if they have become loose, it can cause this. Also check the DC socket is not loose and the battery charge or AC light is on, again a dropped laptop will easily break the DC socket if the plug is in.. If these fail, try it without the hard drive attached and see if you get the POST splash screen (POST = Power On Self Test).. Other than that it really is a shop job, unless you can strip a laptop top down...

As Mr T mentioned you could try

1. removing and re-seating the ram modules. Make sure that the battery has been removed prior to doing this.

2. removing and re-seating the hard drive.

3. removing the hard drive and leaving it out. Then restart the notebook and see what type of error codes / messages you will have
