USB Drives not working... mostly? Please help! - Page 2

In other other news... what the... life just got even more interesting.

On a whim, I tried plugging in my usb game controller.

And it... works...?

It can't just be my mouse, because my mouse works on other computers. Same with the other USB mouse I've tried.

Apparently this is more complex than just "external hard drive good, devices bad."

How very strange... I must investigate further.

Ideas? Delighted. But lost.

Great news!

The eSATA usb drive works. I didn't even realize I could plug USB into this thing.

Between that and my USB splitter, I'm in business.

Any idea what the implications are for the rest of the USB ports with this new information?

No, wait... scratch that. The eSATA is the same.

What I HAVE discovered (this keeps getting weirder) is that non-fuctioning devices WILL work if they are plugged into specific tendrils of the USB splitter.

What could that mean? Something with how the devices are drawing power maybe?

At least things are working now!!
