ACER Timeline 1830 - Laptop Won't Charge, Charger OK, Battery OK, What Else?

Hey Guys, My laptop won't charge. I have tested the charger on another laptop and it works and I have tried a second charger on my laptop and it still won't charge. It will turn on unplugged so battery is fine and I have tried my back up battery and it won't charge either. I suppose this is the powerjack but I just wanted an opinion if that was probably the case. What's strange is, I can still feel an electric current coming out of the USB Jack with my finger when my charger is plugged in, and there is no current when it's unplugged. But I have tested to see if my iPod would charge and it doesn't. Does this sound like a major power jack replacement operation or is there some secret button I could press haha? It's an ACER Timeline 1830 Ultrabook/Netbook/Not really sure what category it falls into-book. Thanks for any help.

Did you try wiggling the jack adapter going into your notebook? Any difference doing that?

Yes, not much wiggle room but I also tried to swivel it around and pushed in on the jack to see if I could get a charge. Nothing worked. Also wiped battery connector, and blew out the power jack.

So, you use your ac-adapter to charge another "exact" Acer model as yours? And the 2nd charger you tried to use was of exact model as your current charger?

The other laptop is an Acer laptop but not the EXACT same model.  I share the charger between the two laptops daily. The 2nd charger was from another Acer that is also a different model but it worked on the 2nd laptop but unfortunately not the Acer 1830. So basically no and no.

Everything up until now points to non-working charger for your model. I would try to get another (same model) working and try out 1st - simple and sure way to eliminate the charger issue

Yes, you have to make sure that the charger is for the prescribed model as voltages, amperages are diffrernt...too much diff on the high side of voltages/amperages not good and too low also causes problems

The volts and amps for the charger and batteries are the exact same for both laptops.
