Aspire one D250: Touchpad not working

HI, I have an Acer aprire On D250 and recently due to a short i have replaced its motherboard for another used one i bought. The system started up Xp normaly theres the mouse arrow but the touchpad doesnt work at all.

I have tried:

1. Fn+F7 together and nothing happened
2. I borrow a working acer aspire one D250 touchpad from a shop and replaced my acer tuchpad with it and still dint work.
3. I placed another HDD with windows 7 and linux and touchpad didnt work either.

After these testd I am thinking that the problem is with the motherboard. What do you think and what can i do to try to fix this?

Thanks.

Hard to say from a used motherboard. But if the touch pad works before, it should work again. You have no issue with an external USB mouse?

When I attach an usb mouse it works very well but touchpad dont work...

Also I noticed in control panel device manager that theres nothing relative to the touchpad. There are no alert signals...

I have installed the touchpad driver synaptics and nothing happened as well.

How about refreshing the BIOS? Just run a BIOS update from the current version

You can get your BIOS firmware and instruction as how to install it from here

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_one_D250.html

It doesn't hurt to to try the cold reset: remove battery, remove ac-adapter then dhold down the power button for 40secs

Hi i found out that one litle cale of the touchpad ribbon was making a shirt with mobo so thats why wasnt opening the netbook. Now I have no touhchpad and some keys of the keyboard dont work like 9,  delete, p, l, fron the righ hand side of the keyboard. I dont know why this happens... how can i check if the mobo is good or not? I can load windows ok now but have those problems.

Hard to say about a bad or good motherboard unless you have the proper tools for it. Is there a warranty on that used motherboard? I would try replacing it
