Well its been a long time since the XPS Gen1 came out and I have far better systems now but for some reason every once in a while I look at ebay and see if there is a nice Gen1 for sale. I found one for $150 and its time to play again, lol

It only has a 9700 so I just ordered a 9800 for $55, damn wern't these things $500 back in the day?

The only real issue this lappy has to be an A+ cond is the lid has some scratches so I ordered a replacement part. Never cracked one of these thigs open B4.

Would like to do the 9800 mod if I can still find the docs if anyone can help me find them.

Did want to try SYS 7 on her but seems like the sigmatel audio driver doesnt play nice with OS7, will keep trying. Need more ram first, only 512 in her now.
