on-screen display (OSD) gone (T42)

The on-screen display that shows volume, and screen brightness as I recall, has been missing in action for several months. Is there a software setting for this, or is it some sort of failure?

Do you still have your Think Advantage utilities installed? if yes run it and see what it says

Check also if your model System Interface Driver is being installed

Turns out the System Interface Driver wasn't installed. I downloaded latest ver, installed and rebooted, but no joy.

I did a google search and discovered there's an on-screen display driver. I removed and reinstalled and OSD returned. YES!
