NP5793 beeping, no display

I had a BSOD. Now when I turn on the laptop I get no display. After 5 to 10 seconds it starts beeping. Just like 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 for about 30 seconds and then it turns itself off.

What could this symptom be caused by?

continuous beeps .... power supply, keyboard or motherboard ...

I would try removing ram, drive - then re-seat them and see first

I reseated the drive and ram, also tried running without the keyboard (as I know it runs with it removed in the past). Still no good. 11 beeps with a longish pause between them and then it goes off. Do you mean the power supply as in the power block, or the inbuilt power supply. It does it on battery as well as mains so I can't see it being the block. Also does it without the battery plugged in.

Ok, so I've missed some pretty important information. What has happened is... My video card (8800gtx mxm-HE) has been dying for the last 8 months, I've oven'ed it three times and then just the other week it died again. So I oven'ed it but now it doesn't work at all (no display, computer comes on, 30 seconds later or so it goes off, but no beeping).

So I bought a Quadro FX1600 (basically a 8700 GT) mxm-HE card and this is whats not giving a display but giving beeps and then turning itself off.

Honestly I thought the dead 8800 GTX was causing these beeping noises too but I must have been mistaken.
I have another laptop identical (my brothers) which I can borrow parts off of to test. I put his video card in my laptop and now it works...

So the FX1600 isn't compatible... BIOS thing? Anyway to fix this? They are both mxm-HE cards.

Much likely is the BIOS thing. See if you can get any update, from either Sager or Clevo

Just reading this thread on another forum http://www.boarddigger.com/forum/d0irOfOsTXV, see niffcreature's post about VBIOS.

Sounds like HP have an incompatibly VBIOS. But there is a possibility to "blind flash" the bios? Not sure this will work as I get these beeps and it turns itself off!
