want to buy a notebook - super duper overwhelmed by the choices

Thread Starter
sorry if this is the wrong section. please delete or move if i'm breaking the rules - i'm new here. D:

I'm looking for a replacement for my Alienware notebook, which i'm selling (it runs too hot).

I was leaning towards lenovo, which was a hard enough choice as they have so many models, but now I'm hearing that Asus is a better way to go, and they have just as many. I know that no one company is better than the other, and that it depends model to model, but going through every single model, reading reviews, and "narrowing it down" isn't working for me. Perhaps I'm thinking too hard about it, but I don't want to make a bad decision, like this Alienware.

I need some help in a bad way. :(

Here are my basic requirements...

Most Important: Durability, runs cool, longevity, good battery life
Uses: Minecraft, Guild Wars 2, Adobe Flash, Blender, Unity 3D
Price Range: about $800
Processor: i5 or i7 (not sure)
Graphics: Onboard as long as it'll run the above stuff "well enough". I hear that Intel HD 4000 is acceptable. don't want a gpu that'll heat up too much.
Screen: the smaller the better
Hard Drive: SSD, or possibility of upgrading to SSD
Not important: CD/DVD, speaker quality, webcam quality, form over function

Lenovo seems like a good choice here for you. Check out their web site, having specials and sales at the moment. Good luck with finding one satisfying your needs.

cheers ...
