Is This An Upgrade Intel Link?

Thread Starter
While prowling through Amazon looking for another product, I came across one that surprised me. I have an Inspiron 1720, 2,4 Ghz that i want to upgrade. It came with (2007) an Intel 4965 WIFi Link. The product I saw at Amazon had the same designation except the ad called it a NEW-GEN adapter. Does anyone know if this "new" adapter is actually an upgrade to my old link or is it just an upgrade to a G link?

Thanx
Chuck

Do you have the link to the product in question?

I would think that it is just a model upgrade or new, does not necessarily be an automatic upgrade in order to work with previous notebook models

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=intel+4965+wifi+link
will take you there.

The info does talk about PCIe (was this available 2007) and 300 Mbps which also is a last but one range (I think).

Nice. Many good choices there, I'll go for the cheap one winknudge.gif

Is your router up to it?

cheers ...
