Hi everybody,

First, I am french with some problem in English so forgive me for all my future mistake ;)

I just reinstall my XPS 1710 and I am looking for the best driver for the GC, I don't want to modify BIOS because it is still in warranty but I use MSIAfterBurner to OC it.

Do you have some information about the best Driver for my GC? (7950GTX)

Thanks

Have a nice day ;)

Hello,

I don’t know what Windows you are running but I have been using the 179.48 from nvidia with Windows 7 32bit a long time now with no problems.

Hi,

I use W7 32bits and the same driver like you. (179.48)

I don't have problem with it but I am wondering if somebody have done unofficial version for better performance...

Define "better performance" winknudge.gif Most drivers updates are mostly for games, in my opinion, and games rely on many things. If it doesn't break, don't fix it smile.gif

cheers ...

Hi. I just had to "bake" my 7950GTX (in Inspiron 9400) for the second time last night, - successful. I reinstalled the driver for it, and 179.48 is the last from Nvidia for that card.

However, I have run Laptopvideo2go drivers with modified INF files successfully in the past (196.34, 259.47, 268.27, 270.80, 275.27) when I was playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on this machine. Best was probably the last 3.

As qhn points out, most driver updates seem to rotate around games, and these are DX9c/XP cards at the end of the day.

For your info, - if you ever want to upgrade from the 7950GTX, go to the FX1600M (or the FX3600M - both from the Precision M6300 and Vista/DX10 ).

While both are seen as "unknown video adapter" by the BIOS, the FX1600M is a straight plug and play with full functionality (same 3DMark06 scores as the 7950gtx, but DX10).

I have the FX3600M (similar to 8800M GTS) in my M1710 but this upgrade is not so straight forward (see Englund 33's last post, on "The Big Question... thread on this forum). Plays Battlefield 3 (3DMark06 of 8000+).
