The latest gadget - the Spark (for Canon and Nikon DSLRs) enables users to just focus on a specific area of the frame, thus creating interesting shots by manually controlling blurs.
One focuses pretty much by squeezing the lens, and the tilting will allow the focus of different spots in the frame.
