software counterfeit

 hey, got a gateway windows xp series lt2021u notebook pc, a friend install software dark edition 4.6 but see notifcation saying software counterfeit, how can i get back the orignal system that came with the pc,thanks.

Windows? you can always try to re-enter the COA key

COA key = Certificate of Authenticity key. That's the label underneath your notebook that tells you which version of Windows you have and the product key that goes with it
