Toshiba Satellite P200 LCD Problem

Hi Everyone
 
I have a Toshiba Satellite P200 and there is a problem with the Display , it works and it does not work .
 
I have done some checks  ,the backlight is on , and it works ok with a second monitor .
 
The question I really want to ask is , where is the switch or contact on the Lid or body of the Laptop that shuts down the screen when I close the Lid , I have the Laptop stripped down and I can not see anywhere , where there is some sort of contact mechanical or magnetic between the Lid and Palm rest .
 
I thought that there me have been something where the Lid Latches close but can not see anything around there  .
I know there must be something that puts the laptop into Hibernate when I close the Lid , but what and where is the sensor or whatever located .

define "work" and "does not work" - on and off by itself? does it work when hooking up to an external display?

Hi

 

When booting up the Laptop , the screen sometimes comes on and sometimes it does not come on , the backlight is always on , yes has I have said in my first post it will work with another monitor , I checked the wiring cable from MoBo to LCD and it checks out ok , ( I am an Electrician by trade though not practicing  it now )

 

I really want to know where the switch sensor is on the lid and palm rest that shuts off the screen when you close it .

Take a look at this pic



It is located somewhere near the right hinge, you can just unplug and not using it.

I have a toshiba satellite 17" and the screen just stop showing anything? It boots up and all but nothings shows on the screen. Can anyone help plesae.....
