Asus N56VM considerations

I'm eyeballing the Asus N56VM, do you have it, what is your opinion if it?

Which variation of the VM-VZ models is the cheapest to get the real 1920x1080 display?

I'm interested in how well the 630M GPU will handle HD video rendering?

The N56VZ steps up to the 650M. Would this be worth the extra $200, will it make a major difference in render performance?

My desktop is also an Asus-built system P8P67 Deluxe, i7 Sandy Bridge, 16 GB ram, GTX 570 GPU.

This absolutely flies through HD video rendering, just wondering how it will compare to the 630M and 650M GPUs?

650M is quite an improvement over the 630M, worth $200 or not depending one's pocket tongue.gif

And sorry, can't compare desktop GPU performance with notebook GPU, it is just not the same.

cheers ...

But a rough estimate - 3DMark Vantage 23700 vs 8060 GTX 570/650M so about a threefold difference in performance.

That would certainly explain the high performance level I have.

Finally made a decision and ordered the Asus N56VZ-DS-71 laptop, along with a Seagate Momentus XT 750gb hybrid drive, which I'll swap for the 5400 rpm drive which comes in the laptop. I'll keep the slower drive in my external USB enclosure for backup/data storage. A bit above what I intended to spend, but after learning about the differences between the 630/650M GPU's, better to get the best instead of dragging along with a lesser version. I appreciate everyone's input. Should have everything by next weekend! :)
