M17X R3 unable to update BIOS and Graphics card drivers

I was reading on another forum (can't remember which offhand) that there were some "new" bios updates for the R3

I checked on the Dell website and found that there indeed were, both updates A08 and A12, I did a quick check of my system and found that I had bios revision A06, so either one would would be an upgrade.

however, when I go to download them from either the USA site or the Europe one (and no matter what download method I use) I get one of the following messages:

But also, as I mentioned in the title, I am unable to update the Graphics card driver,

I have an ATI Radeon HD 6970m, if, on the AMD website, I choose "download 6xxxm series" it downloads a little utility that installs itself and then does nothing, literally nothing.

If I then find that little utility (Catalyst_Mobility_64-Bit_Util) and run it it comes up with the following message:

which is a little bit unusual...

so I go on the dell website, again, and I search for the necessary driver, but there is nothing there.

again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I downloaded it, ran a couple of virus scans on it (it came up clean, which is always nice)

Then I ran it and got a nice message saying it had been updated.

I have also sent a message to dell asking them why the A12 bios is currently unavailable.
