Interesting remark at the post below the video clip ... We need to call ACER up and have those support people looking at this thread, again!

"custom cut of bottom plastic to use 8-cell battery also included"

I have tried many things over time with no luck. We are all familiar with the Intel Core5 bade that appears in the the bottom right side of the screen when Windows starts. I noticed that Sometimes the badge glitches or has a smal blue line extending downward. I further noticed that when this occurs, the digitizer acts crazy. I thought why not disable the Intel badge and see what happens. I have not had the problem for a week and a half now when it was happening every other time I used the computer. Could this be the fix people are charging money for? I really don't know, but it worked for me. You can uninstall it, but I suggest just

disabling it. You can do this by clicking RUN, typing mscofig, selecting start up tab and unchecking "Intel Badge.Ink". I used CCleaner to dissable mine so that I could turn it back on if the fix didn't work. I guess you could also uninstall it, but I have not tried it. I suggest disabling it and rebooting to take effect. This seems to have worked for me, I hope it works for you.

Negative on the Intel Badge test. Still though, I mailed again the guy which said it´s a hardware fail and that he can fix it and the last price he offers is 70€. Now there is one thing: how many of you do have an Iconia 6120?and how many would care to fix it. As for the 70€ price I got from this guy we can pay each a small part and get the photos of how to fix it. For example, if there are 5 of us, it´s 15€ each; via Paypal would have no problem for it´s 100% safe and I believe in a few hours we would have it ready. So, what do you guys say?

I don't have one myself one. Hope the others read this thread and replying soon. I can offer, in my capacity of Administrator here, the chance for the person to promote his work and solution with a link for donation to his paypal address. And we all hope that fair-play and appreciation take precedence of free-loafers smile.gif

Thank you "qhn". Still though the work is not mine and as you can undestand, the guy I linked you to the youtube video, the one saing he can fix it, wouldn´t like to fix 5 items at once for the price of one so he would´t care advertise fixing it for 15€, for example. That is why I am asking the people who want to fix it and pay together to answer here and I don´t care if is someone else who wants to collect the money and do the payment for the fix since, by using Paypal (with payment, not as donation), we are all covered and we know that no one will get away with our money :)).

So, everyone who wants to fix it, gather here and let´s get on with it.

Cheers.

Well, since no one announced me to fix together, I paid myself the fix and it's done-a SuperIconia without one fault. Still though, if any of you wants to have it cheaper, I can send you the tutorial for half the price I paid-35€. Just let me know. So it would be Yes,I can finaly fix the self clicking or so called Ghost Touch of the acer Iconia 6120.
Cheers.

Yes that is how it should be. But I live in Spain and unfortunately it´s the only country where  you have to pay for sending electronics to the main office in warranty. For example, if it´s a minor thing, they´ll fix it in the shop where I bought tho laptop but if  it´s the ghost touch, I have to send it to Madrid to the central office. First time free. But since they don´t fix anything, you´ll pay 25€ for each time you send it afterwards. SO, I decided that I rather do it myself and loose only 70€...oh, and have my laptop here, since if you send it you will be waiting at least 2 weeks for it. And now, if anyone of you thinks the same, will have done in 30minutes (it´s the time it takes to fix it) and for even less money then me- 35€.

Cheers.

I got you loud and clear. Still I would think it's worth a shot to give Acer International a shout, explaining everything. In the instances of customers have to send back many times from their own pocket, I would go further up to the EU even. This is simply not acceptable, they can be sued in USA in small claim court for this crap.

cheers ...

Yes we should. But it´s a shame that even if we are 50 people shouting, they won´t bother to listen. It happened before with big companies like Sony, Toshiba, Compaq, HP, etc etc. This time, I just didn´t wanted to wait anymore to receive the same result-sending the laptop 3 times before they change it entirelly and gues what? the people who received a new one after sending it 4 or 5 times to get it fixed...well as I was saing, they received a new one and...surprise! the same fault. Acer doesn´t call back for them because people say that only a few of them have the issue but believe me, I´ve seen what is wrong with them and I can assure you, allmost all of them have this issue. Fortunately it´s not that serious.

Cheers.

Well, my machine is back. Yet again they state they can not duplicate the issue and have done nothing. I don't think they do anything with it except sit it on a bench, turn it on, and leave it alone. They refuse to have their repair person call and discuss and they refuse to look at video I had taken of the issue occurring.

The thing they continually say is to always have the unit on a hard surface and do not sit it on a pillow or your lap. I almost always have my unit on a cooling pad, on a table, or on a upright book stand. Their comment does not apply.

SO frustrating. Such poor service.

Well, let me say this - the folks in TX who are the "Second Tier" support do seem to be empathetic, and to understand computers and what you are saying. They also SEEM to want to ensure the unit works. I do have to give kudos to the call center folks in TX.

I Find it alway funny that chinese buy stuff from western countries, duplicate them and then sell for less!

and if something goes wrong, those chinese only tell you that they do not know why?

So save your headache, trust me and let me help you guys! a professionel engineer! not a chinese engineer!

but let me tell you one point!

nothing in the world is for free, only death, scam, rob and ly

so do not understand me wrong, i am not greedy, but i have to live and learn more to help you even out if no one else can do it!

for this i need

*Pepsi

*good nerves

*brain

*tools

so a donation of 20€ should be fair? especially if you guys can not do the fix yourself, that i take your item and repair it myself!

i am not a chinese scammer who steals from other guys notebook and tell them i am a poor student!

laugh4.gif...Dude...the scamer is you by asking the money you first asked me and by the way: what a fix? horrible pictures, you can´t even see a thing and the upper screen fix???it´s nowhere. Lucky I pretty much understand computers. If it´s not for the fix that really works I would be asking for a refund right now for as you gave me the "fix", you know you would have to refund yes or yes. So please, do it right and PLEASE! don´t even think about asking people to send you their laptops. I think if you review the "quality" of the fix, you maybe understand that you are taxing people waaaaaay too much since right now you are about to do it for 20€.

Want to talk about justice? give back the difference from the 20€ you charge to what I`ve paid since 20€ would be the right price for the type of "fix" you offer.

By the way, I do respect your work, otherwise you would see the pictures allready in the net. But they aren´t are they?

Cheers.
