Asus X59SR

Thread Starter
I recently bought a used x59Sr model laptop . but my problem is that it did not come with a hard drive cover plate nor a hard drive caddy. so i was thinking of trying to find a secondary HDD for  the optical drive slot . what is the size on that in  mm 9.5 ? and is there a universal one ? post link if any of that model fit. also was gonna use External Drive to load OS on it . any tips on finding a caddy as well for main drive would be sweet send any links on a used one or anything you all can think of . need that dang plate to protect drive. not to smart on who lost them damn thing or for me buying the damn thing used without it. TOO late now.
Kind regards
or if any one knows of site where i can find a regular caddy and cover plate if possible.

You might want to try searching for a twin-sister model for this one ... same form and (almost) everything but the model name. That will be a challenge for sure. Why can they make things simple with just ONE model name across the world sometime? mellow.gif

Greetings again all ,
Update on the extra HDD caddy ,first one didn't work due to
That this board is a Pata Ide ,and I had purchased a Sata to Sata ,but reordered
Correct HDD Sata to Pata/Ide connectors on the laptop mobo.
Also made a bootable flash drive for win 7 install .
Using a 4 gig flash stick to copy win 7 ultimate for no cd needed installs .
So far so good loading drivers now .
The asus x59sr is the hardest laptop to find oem or used parts .
Regards
