I have an old Acer Travelmate 8104 WLMi (model ZF1).
Some time ago the display started to have problems.Going pinkish and started then to go dark and came back by pressing some keys. But now it is unusable and never last after start longer than a second or two.
External display works.
After researching the subject I came to the conclusion that is most likely the LCD Inverter or Bulb. And I had a feeling it actually is the Inverter.
The original LCD inverter had a part number AS023170198
Acer don't provide parts to this old models but I ordered a replacement from a third party - but what they sent me was with the part number AS023170775 - and they claim it is the right part and exactly the same as original.
But when I installed it I do get the picture to LCD but almost immediately electric disturbances start and I loose the picture. It is not like going black this time but like it was not proper part. Electrical or something? Snowstorm type of efect.
I was wonder if anyone had the same problem or know about these Inverter parts.
I think I read somewhere that there are several 8104WLMi models around.
