Most of the displays I found were not in great condition. I do have a couple of T42 displays saved that look ok, but the T42P is the best by far and is less than one of the T42 displays. I think it may be capable of higher resolution on a T42p machine, but if it works on my T42, why not. I'm just not familiar enough with the differences.
Thanks for quick reply, and thank you for this forum!
'Give it a go' doesn't answer the question, really. Are you certain they're compatible? Replacement takes a couple of hours... not to mention hassle and cost of returning the monitor to the seller, restock fee, etc. Not something I fancy doing more times than necessary.
according to your post you seem to be quite sure about it
I'm not sure what I said that gave you that impression. In fact, I am not sure at all, which is why I asked the question. I was hoping someone reading this forum could say with certainty that yes, they are compatible, or no they are definitely not compatible.
Plus I confirmed in the Maintenance Manual that the LCD, inverter and connector FRU's are the same for both models, something I didn't think about checking before. So I ordered the T42p assembly last night. It was the only compatible full display assembly I could find that appears to be in A+ condition. I'm happy.
