Asus A6R - Problem with booting, help if u can please.

Thread Starter

Hi, I've got an ASUS Model: A6R

I have a big problem with it. Well, I've installed Windows Vista on it, before Windows XP Home Edition.
Ok, I booted my laptop after install of Windows Vista and it was working properly for next 3 days and there was no problem, on 4th day when I tried to boot up, the problem has happen. The first realise was that the Bios doesn't boot up or even exist on the laptop.

Now when I turn on my laptop it does show ASUS logo and thats it freezes down. Any typing of ESC, F1, F2, F8, F9, F10, F12 desnt help. I think I need new bios installed, cuse even the Windows Vista CD doesnt boot up or show anything...

If u have any solution, I will thank you so much.

PS. Reset of bios by opening laptop didnt help, cant remove hard drive cuze its hardly screwed. Cant get into Ram as well, theres propely no need to go there anyway...

Question: can u install bios on to cd/pendrive to install on the the system.

THX

Any error codes or messages? Noises? Light?

Can you expand more about "can't remove the hard drive/can't get into ram"? You cannot take them out?

There's probably no need to touch them, but sometimes removing them and re-seat them can help

cheers ...

It could also be that the harddrive is failing

I have problem with my Asus A6R, It will not get into BIOS. When I turn my laptop on, I saw Asus Logo then F2:Enter Set Up ESC: Popup Menu, when i press F2, It Shows Entering SETUP...then Press ESC for BBS POPUP, Primary Master (HDD) is ok and secondary master (CDROM) is OK,.. when i press ESC, It Shows Entering SETUP then Boot Selection Popup menu has been selected..and That's all,  it will not get into the BIOS menu not even in Reboot. I inserted the bootable CD but it will not get into booting setup..Before it will to to Booting Setup it will passby in the BIOS so i think there is a problem with my BIOS...please help....

Try removing / replacing the CMOS battery and see if you can get the BIOS to rest

cheers ...
