Acer aspire 5610z - POWER DOWN at start

Hi there my Acer aspire 5610z boots up but shortly afterwards it will power down.When on mains or battery. Some times it will run for hours with no problems. Seems like a componet issue any one had this problem Phillip

Try running a MemCheck and chkdsk and see. Remove ram modules and hard drive, and re-seat them might help, sometimes

Hi There removed and reseat ram and hard drive , but still the same. Also i did not mention the OS on the laptop is VASTA many thanks Phillip

Hi qhn Just run windows memory diagnostics no errors detected. I was wondering if its the small board that the power switch sits on but need some one that as experience the same fault Phillip

I saw a few comps in the past with the same symptom as yours - sometimes they can run for hours, and sometimes just shutting down when they feel like it. New battery, new ac adapter, new ram, new drive ... anything that can be swapped is being swapped ... We wrote them off as "intermittent" bad motherboards sad.gif

These comps did not have the luxury of having a separate power board - so it might be worth a shot for you
