I don't think so. Newer GPU versions do not equal to better performance or fixing previous bugs laugh4.gif

I'd go back with the original, and may be playing with 1-2 versions after that ... playing it safe. Notebooks are not desktops

it does not do it ALWAYS, just every now and then even with very OLD games like Knights of the Old Republic 2

when using smart defrag 2, black "inamovible" sectors are maybe broken sectors?

I would not know, since I don't use Smart Defrag. Just to be sure, use Windows own check disk tool (inside drive properties, tools, error checking) and see it can confirm what you suspect

I keep getting stutter in the same place with skyrim. Reinstalling the game, however, has kinda mitigated it.
now. If I had really damaged the GPU with that spark, months ago, it would have been more noticeable, right? I'm not even sure I actually hit the GPU but still.
