Medion Akoya E6227 maximum RAM

Config : B815 processor with 2GB DDR3, Win 7 64-bit

I'm considering upgrading the RAM to 8GB DDR3 and a crucial scan confirms 8GB DDR3 is the max. However, Ark Intel has the max supported RAM as 16GB DDR3. See http://ark.intel.com/products/63919/Intel-Celeron-Processor-B815-2M-Cache-1_60-GHz

A similar scan on a Lenovo T61 says that max RAM is 4GB DDR2, but it is known that the T61 works with 8GB DDR2.

Could the same hold true for the E6227? Has someone tried 16GB for a B815 processor. A polish website seems to be selling it.

thanks!

The Intel HM76 chipset should be able to support 8GB ram. But you need to check with Medion for the BIOS of the Medion Akoya E6227 model to be sure.

*I am removing the link to Polish site from your post due to security warning*

This is what I have
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 208, 26/04/2012
SMBIOS Version 2.7

I googled but cannot tell if this version of the BIOS will take 16GB RAM. Couldn't find anything from American Megatrends website

Got this from Medion's website, but this seems older to the one I have? Version 009. Released in 2011

Just wanted to post, since it might help someone. 16GB RAM is recognized in the Akoya E6227 with the above BIOS version. I checked in the BIOS on startup, my computer and online on crucial's site. All report 16GB.

thanks!
