stop elantech pad - solved!

Thread Starter

I am trying to stop the elantech pad.  (It REALLY screws up typing!)  I have stopped all references to it in start up.  I have went into services and stopped those. I went into mouse, in control panel and disabled it.  I went into program files and renamed the elantech folder. (none of these helped!)  I tried to uninstall but it immediately installed itself again,  Any one of these things should have helped.

I am currently using a simple little wireless mouse. I have no problem with that but the pad just keeps getting in the way <sigh>

Short of taking this thing apart, and disconnecting this thing does anybody have any idea how to get this done?  The disable used to work but no more.

I would appreciate ANY suggestions!

Thank you.............

I may have found a solution.  I went to a previous driver and this seems to have done the job!  I would mark this one as solved but don't know where the button to do that with is <g>
