High resolution (>1080p) 17" laptop

Hey guys,

 

Has anyone seen a decently priced high resolution laptop around? My current Dell Vostro from nearly 4 years ago has a 1920x1200 17" screen and I really don't want to buy a new laptop with a worse screen. The highest I've seen are 1080p ones but that's a step down from my current resolution.

 

Soo, any ideas? If it matters, I'm in the UK. I don't really plan on buying one for at least another year so I've got my fingers crossed that someone will come up with a decent screen by then but I'm just curious about the current state of the market!

Retina screen will go down in price, eventually - problem now is they all concentrate in mobile devices - less than 10" dings

Yeah, and it's kinda annoying... Though I don't like Apple, I might even consider a macbook if they came out with a 17" retina.

I am not sure that Apple would consider offering 17" macbook again. One never knows, they might change the mind winknudge.gif
